THE TREATMENT

The treatment will follow what the client's system needs are. It's important to mention that this kind of treatment does not look to correct, fix things or impose changes on your body. Cranial work sees and treats the person in a holistic light: honouring the body, mind, heart and spirit.

What you will experience is a delicate contact that is based on the art of listening.

The practitioner acts as a point on which the client can rely,

creating a strong sense of safety.

A skilled craniosacral practitioner can perceive the imprints of trauma and can support the client in navigating the physical and emotional discomfort that challenging past events bring into their lives. Whether it's physical forces or emotional stress that have been "stuck" in the body, overtime these unresolved events can develop symptoms of pain, tension, inflammation. In this work, the therapist facilitates a safe space where the client can potentially release this "tissue memory".

The tissue memory is the force that holds the patterns of tension in place.

The approach is extremely gentle and the contact is precise. The releases can create a deep sense of peace and relaxation, and at times, be quite cathartic.

Whichever way they are experienced, they bring forth relief.

Due to its non-invasive nature, biodynamic craniosacral therapy can also be of great support for babies, children, adolescents, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and elders.

Common reasons for treatment that present in my practice are related to cranial and dental trauma and dysfunctions (concussions, head and brain injuries, dental interventions, oral surgeries, migraines, TMJ issues, teeth grinding), as well as accidents, musculoskeletal tension and pain, digestive and/or urinary dysfunctions, female & male health, sleep disorders, stress, anxiety and depression.

It is typically recommended to receive 3 initial treatments, which can be spaced out a couple or a few weeks apart, depending on the client’s needs. This will allow us to delve much deeper into any patterns of restriction. (Acute cases may present differently, and may require more ongoing attention.)

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER A TREATMENT?

Right after the treatment, most clients typically feel quite relaxed and peaceful. They may also begin to feel relief and improvement from pain, tension and specific ailments. In many cases, the alleviation of symptoms can happen anywhere from within

a few days to a few weeks.

For some individuals, the recovery may be more gradual and requires time and careful attention. It's important to be patient and to observe that

improvement is sometimes subtle, and shows small yet crucial changes.

Alternatively, some treatment outcomes may be linked to a new insight – for instance: coming to an important realization, or a new idea, allowing a feeling or emotion that was previously held back, making a decision that was previously neglected, etc. As this “seemingly unrelated” process unfolds, relief too begins to occur. This is one of the reasons we use the words “self-healing” when we talk about Holism. The healing may come from our internal processes as we observe

a shift in our awareness.

Either through ailments or through wellness, our bodies communicate with us. In this work, we offer support to those interested in reestablishing

a clear dialogue with our own selves.

"Learning to listen to this dialogue is the beginning of the healing process."
